Overview

Why Attend

Poorly planned maintenance activities and shutdowns can bring facility operations to a costly standstill, disrupting services, straining resources, and exposing organizations to unnecessary risk. Strategic maintenance planning transforms maintenance from a reactive, disruptive activity into a well-structured process that minimizes downtime, controls costs, and ensures that critical systems remain reliable throughout their lifecycle. This specialized training course examines the principles of strategic maintenance planning and shutdown management, covering scheduling techniques, resource planning, and the coordination required to execute major maintenance activities and shutdowns with minimal operational disruption. This course is through the Strategic Maintenance Planning and Shutdown Management for Facilities Training Course, a program designed to equip facilities professionals with the planning discipline and practical tools needed to manage complex maintenance activities efficiently and safely. Throughout the program, trainees explore how leading facilities teams plan, schedule, and execute shutdowns and major maintenance projects while balancing operational continuity, resource constraints, and safety requirements.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
